            Braunschweiger Mettwurst, "Smearwurst"

            An all-pork sausage made of 
            finely ground meat, mildly cured, and smoked at low temperature. It 
            is characterized by a soft spreading consistency similar to liver 
            sausage. Hog or beef rounds are used for casings, and are 
            tied in a ring, or into links 2 to 3 inch long.
