Used as far back as the Incas, Sunflowers were thought to have mystical properties because the sunflower always kept its face toward the sun.

Sunflower sprouts must be used when the sprout is barely visible, otherwise the flavor becomes very strong and bitter.  Optimum quality is barely sprouted at 5 to 8days.  The seeds also require 75 to 80 degrees of temperature to properly sprout.
