Brussel Sprouts   A leaf and bud vegetable. A variety of cabbage cultivated for its sprouts. The vegetable originated in China.

Allow 1-1 1/4 pounds for 4 persons.    
Sold in 1-pound baskets.

Select   Firm, compact, fresh and bright green sprouts. Store in plastic bag or vegetable compartment-in refrigerator no longer than 2 days. Peak season in October and November.

Serve Hot, as a vegetable or par-broiled and baked in casseroles. Brussel Sprouts
are also used in soups.

Serve Cold,  Brussel Sprout, sprouts may be used in salads as an alternative to the more traditional sprouts.
