Butternut   Marketed all year.  A nearly cylindrical shaped squash with a slightly bulbous base, this variety is harvested at 18 to 24 inches long and 5 to 6 1/2 inches in diameter.  The skin is light and creamy brown to dark yellow making up a smooth hard shell of moderate thickness.  The flesh is yellow orange and fine grained with a seed cavity located in the bulbous end.
