Chile poblano as it is known in Mexico, originated near the city of Pueblo, southeast of Mexico City, hence its name poblano, or pepper from Pueblo.  Its one of the most popular peppers in this country. These peppers are mild to medium in pungency and are used to stuff or in strips to add the mild flavor to soups and sauces.
