Chocolate is available  in many forms and varied quality from fine chocolate of hand crafted pieces from a single varietals to novelty and filled chocolates combining other flavors and textures.

Chocolate starts with the Cacao tree native to South America but currently cultivated from the Caribbean to Africa.  The beans or seeds of the cacao fruit are used as the basic component of chocolate.

The quality of chocolate varies depending on the quality of the beans, how they are handled and which and if additives are used.
