Smallmouth Bass (Micropterus dolomie)

The Smallmouth Bass is slender with a moderate sized mouth. Adults 10-20" long average weight between 0.5 to 4.2 pounds. The Smallmouth Bass is greenish-brown on its back and sides with faint bars and dark mottlings. The whitish belly is ovelain with a dark pigment.

Life expectancy of a Smallmouth Bass may be as long as 10-12 years.

Smallmouth Bass are found in streams.  The fish will eat insects or crayfish that the turtle disturbs.

This species of bass is a stream sportfish.
