  A Norwegian goat's milk flat cheese made with skimmed sour milk, that has a very strong flavor and a texture that ranges from soft to very hard depending on its age. 

The rind is brownish and the interior is brownish-yellow with a blue-green tint; the color darkens with age. The cheese is round and flat, usually about 6 inches in diameter, and from 5 to 6 inches thick, weighing between 6 and 9 lbs.

It is also noted for its low-fat content, which is usually around 5 percent.
