Foster The first reddish colored grapefruit came from a Walters (one of the Duncan type).  When grown in California the Foster shows a light flush on the surface and in the middle section of the rind, and the pulp has no color or is only slightly pinkish near the center of the fruit.  When grown in Florida and Texas it shows a pink color throughout, but the color in in the membranes only and the juice is colorless. This variety is rare today.
