When hunting large game it is important to scout out and plan the exit strategy for transporting the animal back to camp.  A large moose standing in a bog or an antelope across a canyon would require assistance. game carts and ATVs can assist but routes must be verified prior to taking a shot.

When dragging or carrying game out wear bright orange or red and make a lot of noise.  Every year there are accidents attributed to hunters shooting at game being carried or dragged by hunters.  If you must carry the animal drape blaze orange over completely over it!

Do not place the animal on the hood of your vehicle as the heat from the engine will spoil the meat.

When harvesting game birds and small game the problems are much less.
